Autoimmunity

Focus is on patients with presumed autoimmune mediated diseases, whose treatment with disease modifying agents or chemotherapeutic agents, or the disease in itself, render the sufferer immunodeficient.
Patients of this kind are seen in rheumatology, neurology, gastroenterology and hepatology. It is assumed, that these specialities at the outset have different concepts and setups for diagnosing and treatment of intercurrent infections.

Goal

To develop algorithms for surveillance, diagnosis and treatment of opportunistic patients in the different treatment modalities

Tasks

To bring together senior and junior clinicians with a common interest in autoimmunity and a willingness to exchange experience and ideas about the proper management of these conditions.
To formulate projects for immunological characterizations and appropriate management of patients with autoimmune diseases.
